Nidya Gutierrez is a young and talented attorney who focuses her practice on representing employees and consumers in complex civil litigation.
Nidya earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Civic Engagement cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles receiving UCLA College Honors, Political Science Departmental Honors, the Outstanding Academic Promise Award, and a Congressional Scholarship for Excellence in Public Service Award. Nidya received her law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2019 where she earned First Honors in Fundamentals of Post-Conviction and Sentencing and Mediation Advocacy for Litigators.
In her burgeoning career, Nidya had amassed significant experience. Prior to law school, Nidya interned at the U.S. House of Representatives conducting policy research with an emphasis in the areas of immigration, education, health care, and jobs and the economy. She then worked for Shallman Communications, a political consulting and advertising firm, where she conducted research on media and policy issues, as well as public opinion for the firm’s senior strategists and consultants.
During law school, Nidya externed for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), a leading civil rights organization, where she worked on impact litigation and class action cases.
Nidya also worked for the Loyola Center for Juvenile Law and Policy as a practicing law student representing indigent defendants who are serving life sentences for crimes committed as juveniles.
Nidya also served as federal judicial extern for the Honorable André Birotte Jr., a district court judge for the U.S. Central District of California where she performed legal research to support the court and assisted in the preparation of court rulings.
Prior to joining ZLG, Nidya worked at Kabateck LLP, a Los Angeles based complex litigation firm, where she was a member of the firm’s trial team and responsible for all aspects of the prosecution of complex civil cases, including investigation, legal briefing, discovery disputes, taking and defending depositions, and trial preparation.
Nidya is admitted to practice law in the state of California.
